The African American Women's Leadership Congress began with the efforts of three women: Carrie Callaway, Carolyn S. Crocheron-Okerchiri, and LuBertha Oliver. Through their steadfastness and guidance of Dr. Sharon Anderson (Michigan State University), AAWLC grew to 17 women in less than one month! Joining the founding officers was Yvette Davis who served as Secretary.
